Terms of Service

**NOTE** These services are not connected to Weasel Press or Red Ferret Press. Your book will not be published by either imprint. These services are simply to edit and design your book. ISBN Numbers do not come with these services. Library of Congress Numbers do not come with these services.

Print Copies: I do not generally print copies of your book for you. I provide you with print ready files for print on demand services such as Createspace, Lulu, Ingram Spark, etc. If you want me to print copies for you, that will be a separate charge and added to your bill. ISBN Numbers will not be purchased for print. I print through Createspace and will use their free ISBN Number for your book if you decide to have me print your copies. Payment for print copies must be received before I will print.

I do not distribute your books to any bookstores or online databases. I do not distribute your ebook to any devices. You will receive a Word Doc file to upload to Smashwords or kindle Direct Publishing.

Upon acceptance of your project, you will be required to pay at least half of the payment up front for anything over $30. The first payment is nonrefundable for any literary services over $30, unless I fail to do any work on your project within the specified deadline. Any remaining fees are to be paid in full upon completion of your manuscript within 5 business days. If you have problems or have an emergency pop up, feel free to email me. Life happens, and that’s understandable.

I will not start any work on your manuscript until the first half has been received. If you fail to pay at all I will send you a reminder. If no response is received, I will drop the project and move on. I can and will refuse to work with you again.

If for any reason I fail to complete the work on your manuscript within the specified deadline I will refund any payments made.

In the event you are owed a refund, please allow 4-8 weeks for it to be sent out.

Services Provided

What exactly will I work on? Well I work with a lot of things. I own and operate the two publishing imprints Weasel Press and Red Ferret Press, which handles several projects of poetry, fiction and play collections. If you have a project you would like to discuss, feel free to hit me up and we can work out the details.

Editing

I have two tiers, Proof Reading and Deep Editing. Proof reading is essentially Spelling, Grammar, and Punctuation. No one is perfect, and Microsoft word does not always catch everything. This is where an editor comes in. I’ll go over your manuscript and look for technical errors. Deep Editing includes Spelling, Grammar, and Punctuation, but it also includes a hard look the work. When I do a deep edit, I look for consistency in format, I’ll do a story analysis to ensure your work is flowing right or if there’s a few stops that need to be fixed. If you’re interested in either of these services, you can see my prices below. Please note, that these prices are only for the editing portion. If you need your book designed so you can print it, that is separate.

Fiction:

Proofreading - $0.02 per word
Deep edit - $0.04 per word

Poetry:

proofreading - $2 per poem
Deep edit: - $4 per poem

Layout and Design

This section is only for work that will be in print or released digitally through services such as Smashwords and KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) or something similar. Already have your book edited? Just need someone to put it together and make it ready so you can start earning sales for your book? Well why not let a Weasel put it together for you! I’ve put together quite a few books and can offer samples of work.

What all is included here? Well I’ll design your book page for page. This means getting your project set up and designed for print or digital services. If you need both Print and Digital they will be seperate costs. Once complete, you will receive a PDF and/or word doc so you can upload to print on demand services such as Createspace and Lulu. If you need it set for more traditional print run, let me know and I’ll provide you with a different file.

If you’re distributing your book digitally, I’ll make your book ready for digital distribution. This includes setting all the styles of your book so Kindle and Nook devices can read your file properly, as well as clickable navigation system so readers can simply click to the chapter they need to be in.

A Cover design can be provided, however, covers are extra. All of my covers come from photostocks purchased through www.123rf.com Generally, the extra charge is $40 to get the image and format it correctly for print and digital distribution.

My Prices for this can be seen below.

1 page is defined at 250 words. So if you have a 50, 000 word manuscript, then that would be around 200 pages.

Fiction:

$2 per page on anything below 50, 000 words
$4 per page on anything 50, 000 and up

Poetry:

$2 per page on anything below 50 poems
$4 per page on anything 50 poems and up

Payments are accepted only through paypal. Paypal info will be provided after your project has been accepted. As stated in my ToS, at least half of the payment is required up front before any work is started. If for any reason I am unable to complete the project within the deadline discussed, I will refund your money.
